Welcome to The Wand Review from Herbistry420. The iSpire Wand is an induction heater that turns any bong into a full dab rig — and it doubles as a DynaVap heater for dry herb too. Fordee puts it through its paces in this complete 2024 usage and review, covering everything from setup to temperature, included accessories, and live dab sessions. Here are 5 tips to get the most out of it.
The Wand Review: What Is the iSpire Wand?
The iSpire Wand is an induction heater designed primarily for dabbing concentrates. Induction heating works by generating an electromagnetic field that heats conductive (metal) objects — meaning you need to use the included metal inserts inside your banger. Your finger won’t heat up inside the coil, but the metal insert will, allowing you to precisely heat your concentrate without a torch. Bonus: you can also drop a DynaVap vaporizer directly into the coil to heat it for dry herb sessions.
5 iSpire Wand Tips for Better Dabs
After hands-on testing in The Wand Review, here are the 5 most useful tips Fordee shares:
- Always use the included metal insert in your banger. The insert creates a barrier between your concentrate and the glass walls of the banger. This reduces combustion risk and keeps your dab clean — without it, the concentrate can seep into the glass next to the metal insert and make a mess. Small dabs work best.
- Set up your bong so the banger sits flush and level. If your downstem holds the banger at an angle, the ceramic carb cap will slide out during your hit. Fordee solved this by using an 18mm downstem with a 14mm adapter so the banger sits perfectly vertical — keeping the carb cap in place throughout the session.
- Heat first, then drop the dab — not a cold start. The iSpire Wand is designed for hot starts: heat the insert to temperature first (double-press the button to start a session), then drop your concentrate in. Cold starts are possible but not the original intended workflow for this device.
- Start at 525°F and adjust in 5° increments. The Wand defaults to 525°F Fahrenheit and adjusts from 250°F up to 800°F. You can toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius by holding the up and down buttons simultaneously. For flavor-forward dabs, try 450–525°F. For larger clouds, go higher.
- Use the ceramic carb cap — it’s induction-safe. The included carb cap is ceramic, which means it won’t heat up inside the induction coil. You can leave the Wand on top of the banger and still drop the carb cap on — the ceramic won’t conduct heat, so it’s completely safe to use simultaneously with the heater running.
What’s in the Box
When you pick up the iSpire Wand (purchased after January 25, 2024), here’s what you get:
- The Wand induction heater — main unit with 3 buttons (power/session, up, down)
- Two 18650 batteries — pre-installed in the base; USB-C port for charging
- Straight and curved bangers — glass/metal hybrid; straight banger works best for vertical setups
- Metal inserts — essential for protecting the glass and preventing oil seepage
- DAP cap insert (rubber) — drop into the coil before placing a DynaVap for hands-free heating
- Ceramic carb cap — induction-safe, works while the Wand is still on the banger
- USB-C cable — for charging the built-in battery compartment
iSpire Wand With DynaVap: Dual-Purpose Use
One of the standout features highlighted in The Wand Review is the DynaVap compatibility. Drop the rubber DAP cap insert into the coil to create a protective liner, then place your DynaVap M7 or other DynaVap model inside. The Wand heats the cap to temperature just like a torch — you’ll hear the familiar click, then pull your hit. No torch needed, no learning curve, and the insert prevents the DynaVap from touching the hot coil walls directly.
